When a cavity appears on one of the teeth in the front of your mouth it can be unsightly and cause significant discomfort when biting into food. Without timely professional treatment, the area of tooth decay could increase and could potentially result in a dangerous infection and even the total loss of the tooth. If you have noticed a problem with any one of your teeth, you need to have it examined by one of our dentists, Dr. Cleereman and Dr. Veizaj as soon as possible.
If the affected area is relatively small, our dentists might be able to treat the tooth with a dental filling. This treatment plan starts with numbing the tooth and underlying gums. At that point they will carefully remove the compromised tooth enamel. This leaves behind a clean surface capable of effectively anchoring the filling material. If the treated area will be visible when you smile, our dentists might use a composite dental filling. This special dental resin can be shaded to mimic natural tooth enamel.
After our dentists has shaded and applied the composite material they will harden the dental filling with a special ultraviolet light. This will bond the dental filling to the surrounding tooth enamel.
