You probably know that there are several things you may be able to do if you’d like to help your children stay healthy? For instance, you might know that following a healthy diet is an important part of keeping your child healthy, but did you know that there are a few things you’ll need to do to help your child enjoy sound oral health?
For instance, you probably know that you should brush your child’s teeth for two minutes at a time twice a day once their first tooth comes in. However, when you brush, you should remember to brush gently and to use a brush that has soft bristles. If you don’t, you might accidentally hurt their pearly whites. Similarly, please use a children’s toothpaste that doesn’t have fluoride in it.
Unfortunately, before your child’s first tooth erupts, you’ll need to keep their gums clean by rinsing their gums with a wet rag. We also suggest holding your child when you clean their mouth so you can see them clearly. Finally, we suggest cleaning their gums each time they eat.
You should also avoid giving your child a bottle with a sugary drink in it when they’re going to sleep. In fact, even milk is a drink you should avoid before putting them in their bed. Sadly, sugary drinks could leave their teeth exposed to sugar while they’re asleep, which might leave them more vulnerable to cavities. Still, if your baby needs a bottle to sleep, you could try filling it with water.
